I have just uploaded the Early Cold War Term List and Review Questions on my course website. I have also uploaded the reading questions for George Kennan’s Long Telegram, due Friday January 30.
You may find the full text of the Long Telegram at the link below.
Please read the Constitution of the Confederate States of March 11, 1861 this evening. You can find it here: http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/csa_csa.asp
You may also wish to review any parts of the U.S. Constitution you have forgotten: http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/usconst.asp
Both will be available in class tomorrow, but you will not have time to read them cold for the first time. Please consider the points of comparison for tomorrow’s discussion.
I have uploaded the document, “IB History Year 1 First World War Review Questions and Term List” to the course website. It will be due on September 19. Happy research and writing!
The first portion of Civil War review questions and terms have been uploaded on the course website. Enjoy!
Here is a link to the article for tomorrow’s discussion. Make sure you understand the different arguments presented in the article, and that you have read thoroughly. Please, also review the relevant sections on Reagan, Gorbachev, and the end of the Cold War in Ambrose and Gaddis.
This is to confirm that I will be delivering the last lecture of the nine weeks tomorrow instead of having the term quiz. There will be a class discussion Monday concerning the causes of the Civil War, and the term quiz will be held on Tuesday. The term list and review questions will be due Tuesday. I will grade at least the term list during the day so that I can return it to you by the end of school to use as a study aid for Wednesday’s exam. If your term list and questions are already done, good–you will have them to study over the weekend.
The chapter 13 quiz scheduled for today has been cancelled. The term list is still due, today for students who are present, and Monday December 2 for absent students. The material in Chapter 13 will be included in the Chapter 14 quiz scheduled for December 10.
